 As per previous years, all Slow Riding events will take place at the National Air Traffic Service, Whiteley.

  

NATS, 4000 Parkway, Whiteley, Fareham, Hants PO15 7FL

 

There is NO CHARGE to attend these courses, but places are LIMITED so please reserve early to avoid disapointment by e-mailing training @solent-advanced-motorcyclists.co.ukAs per previous sessions, priority will be given to anyone training for a test. 

 

Booking will close the Wednesday before each event to allow an attendee list to be sent to the NATS Secuity team. We are grateful to Jason Strong for his help with booking the site. Toilet facilities and a sitting-out area are available at NATS. Please note that all attendees must bring photo id to gain access to the premises - sorry, no exceptions.

 

The MDU will also be in attendance from which drinks ( 50p ) and Rui's world famous cake will be available at £1 per slice...

All participants take part at their own risk and all Motorcycles must be legal and roadworthy. It is advisable to only have sufficient fuel in your tank for the session and your journey to/from the site.

Members of NATS Motorcycle Club may also attend.

Level (1) - This is for riders whose Observer believes they would benefit substantially from developing their Slow Riding skills.

The session will concentrate on:

(a) Confidence in the feel of your motorcycle at slow speed, including when braking and steering

(b) Accurate starting and stopping

(c) Basic left and right turns from a stopped position and the 'U' turn

(d) Figure-of-eight

 

cone two Level (2) - This is for riders who have already attended Slow RidingTraining and would like to have more time to develop these skills.

The session will concentrate on:


(a) Figure-of-eight

 

(b) Slalom


(c) Look, Lean and Roll (i.e. cornering under power) exercise


(d) Brake and steer exercise


If you have been on the slow riding course before you will know how good it is and you are welcome to come again, but you must RESERVE A PLACE.


The courses all begin at 09:30 so please arrive in plenty of time to ensure a prompt start.
