Dear SAM,

This is just a little thank you to you all, but most especially my new observer Gary Harrison. My son in law, Andy told us ( Hubby Steve and I ) about one of your Sunday “try outs”. I wasn’t going to come along as I felt sure I’d be rubbished. You can probably tell that I’m not the most confident of riders (yet). Anyway, I did go along with them and John Goodson observed me. He was very kind and didn’t make me feel terrible but did suggest some improvements could be made with SAM. All three of us signed up and were given observers more quickly than we expected.

We’ve been along to some training sessions and a club night. Everyone has been welcoming and friendly. Lots of really useful information has been given to us. Chris Robinson looked at my bikes suspension after his training and even gave me a c-spanner to adjust it. I’ve now been out three times with Gary, and he’s been brilliant. He’s really put me at my ease and I’m enjoying my rides rather than feeling that I’m doing everything wrong. I can already say that I am riding better and am improving in confidence. I am very grateful for his help and guidance and hope I will eventually pass the advanced test.

For now, I’m concentrating on all the pointers I’m being given, to make me safer and sharper on the road. I think he’s worked out that he might get a bit of “trouble” from me but then the challenges are always more rewarding, aren’t they !
