HOW TO JOIN SOLENT ADVANCED MOTORCYCLISTS

If you live in South Hampshire, the best way to take the IAM Advanced Motorcycle Test is to purchase an IAM "Skills For Life" package with Solent Advanced Motorcyclists, who are the locally affiliated IAM group. SAM is ideally placed to prepare you for the IAM Test because we know precisely what the examiner is expecting and our Observers have regular meetings with our Police examiners to constantly update the advice that we give.

SAM has a team of volunteer Observers who are fully trained and qualified to improve your riding skills on a 1 to 1 basis including a "mock test" if required.

From April 1st 2009 the "Skill For Life" package will cost £139. The package provides you with the following :

* Associate membership of the Solent Advanced Motorcyclists for one year.

* A copy of the book, "How to be a Better Rider".

* Allocation to a fully trained and qualified SAM Observer.

* The IAM Advanced Test fee. (This is conducted by a Police Class 1 Rider)

* Your first year's Associate membership of the IAM.

As well as the above you also have free access to, evening theory classes, Slow Riding training sessions and a copy of our quarterly magazine "making Progress". We also have 8 SAM SUNDAYS from March to November, monthly club nights and a ride out or event every weekend throughout the year. Also available are continental tours and weekends away etc.

SAM requests a voluntary contribution to your observers motorcycle expenses of up  to £15.00 for each observed run.

To maintain your membership of the IAM in subsequent years the annual membership is £28.00 per annum.

The annual membership of SAM is £20.00.
